30-year underwriting veteran to join distinguished organization

Mooresville, N.C, November 20, 2018 – John A. Voelker, President and founder of Voelker Underwriting Services, Inc, has accepted an invitation to become a member of the Risk Appraisal Forum.

The Risk Appraisal Forum fosters communication and trust among people from various sectors of the insurance industry (e.g., brokers, underwriters, and medical directors), and exposes members and guests to advances in medicine and mortality improvements that can be applied within the life insurance underwriting process. The Forum was founded as a study group in 1976 and has become an integral part of the life insurance industry.

John A. Voelker is the President and Founder of Voelker Underwriting Services, Inc., which is a nationwide life underwriting firm that advocates for some of the top BGAs and IMOs in the country. Prior to starting Voelker Underwriting in 2009, Voelker spent 20 years working for several home office carriers, including career side, brokerage side, and reinsurance underwriting, as well as extensive work in the large case and older age markets.

Said Voelker “I have attended several Risk Appraisal Forum meetings as a guest in the past and the meetings are second to none. So, when I was extended an invitation, I excitedly jumped at the opportunity. I was both honored and humbled that such a prestigious organization with its respected membership would want me to become a part of their group.”
